On 09-10-11 April, Caritas Armenia, together with the Armenian Red Cross Society, organised an awareness-raising training on gender equality and the inclusion of people with disabilities.

The aim of the training was to raise awareness of the issue of inclusion among volunteers and head of localities of 6 communities involved in the project (Areni, Garni, Noyemberan, Spitak, Talin, Vayk). Volunteer Fire Rescue Groups (VFRGs) must include all members of the community to ensure access for all and proper recognition of volunteers within communities. It is therefore important to train community members and involve them actively in the development of their volunteer groups.

Many women are already actively involved in some fire, rescue and first aid volunteer groups, and people with disabilities are also part of these groups. We must continue to develop this type of action!
