A 3 half/days training about “Accessible information for persons with disabilities, rights and communication” was held on September 11 to 13, 2024 in MIA CMSA premises.

The training was organised by Armenian Caritas, responsible of project’ output 5. “Enhanced integration of gender equality and disability inclusion in the VFRGs“, in close cooperation with the Crisis Management State Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Mr. Mushegh Hovsepyan, President of the ”Disability Rights Agenda” NGO was main facilitator.

The course covered topics such as the main types of disability, effective communication and ethics, information accessibility and easy-to-read formats. The aim of the training was to provide participants with knowledge on presenting information in formats accessible to people with disabilities, as well as on preparing easy-to-read documents. On the final day, participants were also engaged into practical exercices, the aim of which was to make easy to read guidance material for emergency and disaster situations.

The training was attended by CMSA officers, responsible for CMSA informative and training materials, as well as staff of the Armenian Caritas and the Armenian Red Cross Society.
