Two 5 days Training of Trainers for 36 VFRG volunteers coming from 6 communities (Areni, Garni, Noyemberan, Spitak, Talin, Vayk) were held from October 7 to 11 and 14 to 18, 2024 in Lusakert MIA CMSA training centre.
On 7th of October 2024 the ToT was opened, in presence of first week volunteers and instructors, with official speeches by Mr. Klaus Kapper, Counsellor, Head of Office of the Austrian Development Agency in Armenia, Mr. Bagrat Vardazaryan, Deputy Head of Rescue Forces department of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and Mr. David Nersisyan, Armenian Red Cross Society President.
Mrs. Kristina Ispiryan, Austrian Red Cross Country Coordinator, Mr. Vahe Sargsyan, Austrian Development Agency Programme Manager, Mr. Armen Soghomonyan, ARCS Koytak branch President, ARCS Koytak volunteers and Mr. Nicolas Louis, DG ECHO Surge Response Expert also attended this opening ceremony.
Following speeches, Mrs. Narine Mikaelyan, Khachik VFRG volunteer (Areni community) explained to the assembly the reasons why she decided to be a volunteer fire rescuer and what it means for her and her community.
Finally, all the VFRG equipment brought by volunteers for ToT (PPE, fire extinguishig material, rescue set, radio...) was introduced by AutRC Programme Manager to the guests.
