On 3rd of March 2026, the Austrian Red Cross, the Armenian Red Cross Society, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the Aragatsavan Administration, and the Community of Talin organised a simulation exercise in Aragatsavan locality together with the Talin Volunteer Fire Rescue Group and the Talin fire brigade.
The scenario was based on a fire starting next to a primary school with the evacuation of the pupils and a victim. This was a didactic simulation exercise involving AutRC/ARCS/RS coordinators, ARCS/RS observers. This model will be replicated and organised in 12 more VFRGs of the Republic of Armenia.
The simulation exercise is based on the full cycle of a deployment:
- Alert received by the Alert Coordinator to the volunteers
- Organisation of volunteers in station for deployment
- Transit to the site of emergency
- Deployment on site of emergency as first responders, overall coordination by the Crew Commander with two teams deployed, team 1 for fire extinguishing, team 2 for evacuation of victim and first aid
- Coordination on site with police patrol, ambulance, and Rescue Service crew
- Debriefing and closing of operation on the site of emergency with Rescue Service crew
- Transit back to the Volunteer Fire Rescue station
- Restoring operational readiness, reporting and debriefing of the deployment
- End of operation and closing of the Volunteer Fire Rescue station
