In May/June 2024 the AutRC Fire Rescue expert and a Rescue Service driver/mechanic visited 6 project localities of Aragatsavan, Garni, Khachik, Shikahogh, and Yervandashat housing a VFR station and a fire truck delivered by the Rescue Service to the community.
They refurbished the 6 fire trucks according to a diagnostic guideline drawn up by the Fire Rescue expert, which gives clear indications for assessing and repairing the various parts of the fire engine:
- mechanic (front deck, back deck, gearbox, air filter, oil filter…)
- hydraulic pump (pressure gauge, speed bump, discharge valves…)
- body work (bonnet, doors, trunks, footboards…)
- safety devices (headlights, indicators, flashing lights, honk…)
- cabin (lights, seats, bench…)
They also adapted the 5 fire engines according to the loading plan drawn up by the fire rescue expert. This document gives clear instructions for stowing VFRG equipment in the fire truck:
- tools in the bench
- tools in the left front trunk
- rescue equipment in the right front trunk
- chainsaw and safety equipment in the left back trunk
- fire extinguishing material in the right back trunk
- ladder and forest fire tools on the top of fire truck
Once the adaptation is finalised the equipment must be stowed in the fire truck.
