Fire Rescue Instruction Manual (FRIM) for volunteer rescuers

Fire Rescue Instruction Manual (FRIM) for volunteer rescuers

The Fire Rescue Instruction Manual (FRIM) for volunteer rescuers developed in the frame of the project with the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is finalised and printed. It will be distributed to the VFRGs and MIA RS local fire brigades early 2026.

This will help volunteers organise training within their communities and acquire better technical knowledge of firefighting, rescue and first aid, as well as other areas: how to manage a response team, use ladders, radio communication systems, chainsaws...; and better understand the context of disasters (landslides, floods, earthquakes, electrical and chemical hazards), etc.

Each set includes 3 volumes (456 pages):

Volume 1 – Fire (Structure Fire, Forest and Wildfires), 172 pages

Volume 2 – Various Techniques (Operational Management & Command, Operational Techniques, Miscellaneous Operations, Technological and Natural Risks), 132 pages

Volume 3 – First Aid, 152 pages
