Delivery of VFRG equipment to 5 communities and stowage in the VFRG fire trucks – Areni, Baghramyan, Garni, Kapan, Talin – May 2024

In May/June 2024 the AutRC Fire Rescue expert and a Rescue Service driver/mechanic visited 5 project localities of Aragatsavan, Garni, Khachik, Shikahogh, and Yervandashat housing a VFR station and a fire truck delivered by the Rescue Service to the community.

They delivered the equipment to the communities and stowed it in the 5 fire trucks according to the standard loading plan developed in the frame of the project.

The main objectives of the loading plan are:

-  ensuring long term equipment durability by storing equipment in a proper manner

-  giving clear instruction to rescue volunteers to store the equipment in the fire truck in order to respect the rules described in SOP 06. Restoring Operational Readiness. It means fire truck is properly stored after each deployment or exercice/training and ready for next deployment.

-  giving clear instruction to rescue volunteers to store the equipment in the fire truck in order to respect the rules described in SOP 03. Departure. It means fire truck is ready for deployment any time and rescue volunteers must only wear PPE when arriving at VFR station for deployment, no need to check fire truck.

-  guaranteeing that the crew can function properly during deployments, with rescue volunteers knowing exactly where the various items are and equipment being stored in a logical manner per thematic (fire, rescue, first aid, safety, etc.)
